I hope to own an Ioniq 5 in the next few months. But I want to make sure I can attach my Rocky Mounts bike rack on the car. It uses a 2” receiver to mount to the back. Does anyone know if there is a receiver type hitch for this car?
I'll probably just wait for aftermarket then because I don't want to have to adapt to 2" and induce a bunch of play on the whole system.I too have a bike rack that uses a 2" receiver.
I emailed Miles Johnson Senior Manager, Quality, Service and Technology Public Relations at Hyundai USA regarding the size of the hitch that Hyundai will sell. "Port Installed Options -Tow Hitch TH $450" (see attached) He told me it is 1 1/4 inches.
Hopefully we will find out who makes the hitch seen in the Facebook post. I would imagine aftermarket makers such as Curt will make one at some point.
Thanks for sharing, I just emailed them as I'm in Tacoma.I contacted Torklift Central, located in Kent, WA. They've made 2" receives for multiple small cars in the past. Got the following response:
"Thank you for reaching out to us. At the moment we don't have any immediate plans for releasing an Ioniq 5 hitch, but considering our history with hitches for EVs, I'd be surprised if we didn't make one. If you'd like, I can add your information to our product development sheet. This lets our team know there is interest in a product for a particular vehicle. Please let me know if you have any questions or anything I can help with."
They were ok with me sharing this info (no affiliation), contact them if you're interested: support@torkliftcentral.com
