I am about to order a 73kW Premium Ioniq 5. I need to fit a towbar. Given that most dealers don't know much about the towbars I was wondering what dealers people have used to get towbars fitted ?
Thanks. If my dealer cannot work it out I can tell them to call MacclesfieldI went through there dealer. The wiring loom from the 3 pin socket to the preinstalled loom needs the Hyundai original part as it has some kind of sensor box.
I was quoted £719 for a generic detachable tow bar and 132 pin socket from a local specialist but there was no guarantee it would work with the trailer mode which I need as I'm towing the caravan.
The dealer fitted Hyundai tow bar and electrics was £1033.
There is another thread somewhere on here with more details and pictures.
Show him these pictures as the official instructions tell them to make a bigger unsightly hole. The tech guys were really thankful for the pictures as it was the first one they’d done. These are of my installation but I borrowed someone else’s firstI have ordered the car
Having been told that Hyundai did not do a towbar yet for the Ioniq 5 I told the salesman that Macclesfield have fitted a towbar and that I found all the part numbers. He then made a call and suddenly the tow bar was an option. So now it's hopefully going to be fitted before I collect.
