How to stop DC Fast (SuperCharger) Charging?

We charged at a Tesla Supercharger for the first time yesterday. Plug and charge was seamless and really should be how all chargers work.

We did run into a bit of an issue when it was time to leave. We had set the charge limit to 100%. We didn't need that much of a charge but we had a picnic dinner and figured might as well get more of a buffer.

Well, we were ready to leave before we reached 100% and we struggled a bit to end the charge.

What eventually worked was setting the charge limit lower than the current charge level.

Things that did not work
  • Unlocking the doors. This is what I do with L1 & L2 charging
    • Tried button on the passenger door
    • Tried digital key 2 on phone
    • Did not try fob as I did not have it with me
  • Using the Tesla app - the session was not in the app as we started with plug and charge
  • Pressing the button on the charging cable. According to this thread, a press and hold may have done it.
Does anyone else have a better way to do this? Is there not a button in the car to do this?

After 8 years driving a Tesla I now have an IONIQ 6 since a week. Yesterday I charged at a supercharger in Spain as there are hardly any alternatives. Charging steady at 92 kW until 81 percent, then 9 kW. Starting and ending in the Tesla app with limit at 100%. No problems at all besides restarting the car, I have to find out what exactly to do.

How did you get plug and charge set up? I've put in a payment method for Hyundai Pay in the app but it says that Tesla isn't supported. I've only been able to charge at a Supercharger by going into the Tesla app and telling it the stall number (even then it often takes a few tries to start charging). Thanks!

You must add a payment method in the Tesla app. Either sepa (typical European I guess) or certain charge cards. It worked three out of three times. I was a bit nervous..
