I recently learned of a new way to stop a charging session with the Ioniq 5 using the key fob. Press and release the Lock button and then press and hold the charge port door button. You will hear the clicks, the charge port lights will stop blinking and you can then release the plug with the power off.

I believe it works for both AC and DC charging but I so rarely use DC charging I have not had the opportunity to try it when DCFC.

Just unlocking the car with the key or the button on the handle stops or significantly reduces the charging so that the cable can be released. The cable will relock after a short time if it is not withdrawn.
My experience has been that unlocking (w/key fob or door handle button) will unlock the plug from the charge port but it does not stop or reduce charging. I just confirmed that on the car.

It must otherwise you would pull a very large arc when withdrawing the cable!
I know that depressing the switch on the J1772 plug stops charging and is safe. My original post was regarding the ability to stop charging (AC or DC) using the key fob. Simply unlocking the car does not stop charging. Depressing the switch on the J1772 plug or pressing lock then pressing and holding the charge port button on the key fob will both stop charging. The latter could be particularly helpful when DC charging.
