I purchased our new Ioniq Electric after an eight month Electric vehicle evaluation process. It came down to three Vehicles Ioniq,Leaf and Tesla model 3.
In the end after many road test we decided on the Ioniq.
I have been in the Automotive industry for 45 years and hold master Tech status with 2 Major Manufactures. I'm also an accredited HEV, PHEV and EV, specialist. Im looking forward to my time with this car.

Welcome to the forum.

Interesting, but great to read, that with your background and qualifications you chose the Ioniq over the competitors. Judging from my experience you will get a lot of satisfaction and enjoyment out of your Ioniq.

I'm sure you will be able to contribute valuable information to the forum as well.

Have fun and stay safe.;)

welcome to the forum @W&K AE3

good to have a master tech on the forum, we know a fair bit about the car, but you may be able to correct us on some of the more technical bit if you want to help without breaking any NDA's you may have to abide by due to your master tech status

can you do a post about your evalaution process and your thoughts about the 3 cars you considered and the reasoning behind your choice of the Ioniq?

and any negatives you may have uncovered about the Ioniq EV during the process

always good to see how different people approach the process and one of the topics that does keep coming up now and again

enjoy the forum, any questions just ask, all we ask is you try to search first, but if nothing comes up feel free to ask

Hi fellow NSW owner. I have had my Ioniq EV for over a year, my choice of this car was based on it being the first reasonable EV that was in my price range. The test drive sold me. I must admit the choice was more emotional rather than based on any deep knowledge.
I would also be interesting to see your analysis of the cars you looked at, given that we are looking at the same environment ( prices, charger availability etc )
By the way, in my year of driving around, I might have only seen only one other Ioniq on the road.

I just got the Ioniq EV, purchased online, no test drives, didn't even see the car or same model cars in real life, after watching copious youtube videos about this 28kwh model, i was sold, saw it online carsales, located in Sydney, made an offer, shipped to Brisbane and it is now in my garage, i'm very impressed !
