Hello,

I just bought a 2023 Ioniq5 Limited and have noticed the head up display keeps almost disappearing. I mean it's visible but just barely and I do have the brightness turned up almost all the way. Anybody have this problem or know what to do about it?

If you have polarized sun glasses on that's the problem.
Yeah. I see the same dimming with my head upright. It comes alight when I tilt my head to either side.

Polarized sun glasses are typically polarized vertically, to cut horizontal glare. So if the HD were designed correctly, it would be polarized the same direction. But NO, some designer just got this wrong. So no PSGs. Ah well, I'm not asking for a refund.

I found it almost impossible to get good non polarised clip-ons but discovered these non polarised over glasses, which as the name sugests, you wear over your prescription glasses. The mirror finish, and the visor like design, are in keeping with the IONIQ 5 cool image.
A problem I've found with clip-ons is when the sun is from the side it can cause reflections on the inside of the clip-on. Not a problem with these over glasses.

I have a really hard time driving without polarized glasses.

For HUD, tipping your head at a diagonal makes the HUD visible with polarized glasses.

Alternate: Prescription non-reflective and light sensitive/tinted glasses work with HUD.

For those with less sensitive eyes, it’s a bit of trial & error to determine which non-polarized sunglasses will work.

I’ve leaned to love HUD, but I wish it would display lower in the windshield. Mine is a bit crooked and I can’t find the fix. I removed the distracting speed limit sign. I hope Hyundai can solve the HUD/Polarized sunglasses conflict. The work-around is not comfortable on the eyes. Because I prefer the polarized, I only get the full HUD benefit when the sun goes down.
