Thanks.
Can I run a session without driving just to get battery and cells data? How?
Does the app display DTC codes?
You don't need to drive but the OBD2 port should be active that means with the car ON or charging.
At this time the App does not show any DTC codes.

It seems ok now, after having connected Torque Pro and Ev Notify.
When I came back on EV Watchdog, all data were read.
Very strange this Ioniq

OK, adapter seems generic which usually are slow and have compatibility issues (the App requires a certain feature of the ELM327 protocol to retrieve battery data).

Avoid to run other Apps that access the bluetooth interface while using the Watchdog, especially Torque which seems to lock the access.

Hello, could someone confirm if these extension cables for OBD2 are any good? Can I use one of these and close the fuses/OBD cover on an Ioniq 28kWh? Thanks

Now got EV Notify (Free) working on my 2017 BEV using Vgate iCAR 2 OBD2 ( mentioned as compatable on the website), which I purchased a couple of years ago. Took a bit of fiddling with the bluetooth settings in the phone to get it to connect, but got there in the end by deleting iCar2 and re-pairing. On occaasion since has not connected shraight away, but re-pairing sorted it. The app itself is great and very useful, especially the battery cell data. Still exploring all the information offered. Left the OBD2 plugged in with the car swithed off overnight and no indication of any 12V battery problems.
Thanks to @Watchdog for all the hard work in building this app.

I'm using something like this for a longer time in Toyota Yaris Hybrid. Never had any problems (except of dongle-specific ones).

v1.4 now available

Changes for v1.4
  • fixed cost for kwh not parsing
  • fixed max temperature display (was showing min)
  • fixed pack size (39/64kWh) recognition for Kauai/Niro
  • upgraded db to v5
  • added edit cost kwh for trip card
  • added set cost kwh backwards for settings option
  • several other fixes and adjustments

Premium version, all the above plus:
  • added NearBy screen autoupdate option
  • added sync data option

Biggest change is for the premium version where the sync data option is now available.

In order to sync data to the web server do as follows (see attached screens):
1. activate the option in the settings menu,
2. agree data uploading,
3. go to the website sign up page (blue link in the dialog box) and register there providing your NetId code that was copied to the clipboard by the App.
4. verify your email.

33457

Then from the App make sure you are connected to a data network and hit the "Sync Now" option in the App's menu to force to send the data on normal usage this is actually not necessary as the App will try to sync several times by itself during operation).

Now log in to the website: https://evwatchdog.net, fill any missing info in your profile, read and agree with the terms and you're in. You should see all your data there plus other interesting graphical and tabular analysis.

Great app, I'm using a VIECAR OBD2 dongle (same as carista dongle) and it worked instantly. Very nice that it shows cell voltages even in the free version.

I tried with Vgate iCar Pro Bluetooth v4.0 on Ioniq 2020.
On my primary phone Sony Xperia XZ2 it mostly didn't work. App couldn't recognize the car model.
On my older Sony Xperia model the app worked more often, but not always. I returned the adapter and will buy OBDLink.
