Cannot share the BlueLink account with the 2nd driver?

Hello. Apparently only one BlueLink account is possible.
So sharing is possible.
But how ?
Does the 2nd driver need a Hyundai account? A myHyundai account? Dealership doesn't know. Thanks in advance for any tip about BlueLink sharing.
Once shared, each driver can have his or her own Ioniq 5 profile settings or is that unrelated to BlueLink?

Yes, this is precisely the BlueLink app page in question. Not working for me. It seems something as to be done before that step but what ? Hyundai or myHyundai account for spouse ?
The error message I get is invalid mobile number AND No existing account (which ?!!?) linked to this telephone number ! But apparently there is only one Bluelink account per car ...?

Your Phone: Download the app, install on your phone, create your driver's BlueLink Account.

Car: Activate BlueLink connection. Add your driver's BlueLink account to your driver profile in the car.

Your Phone: Add the car to your app.

Spouse's Phone: Download the app, install on spouse's phone, create spouse's driver's BlueLink Account.

Car: Add your spouse's BlueLink driver's account to your spouse's driver profile in the car.

Your Phone: Share the car with your spouse's BlueLink driver account.

Spouse's Phone: Accept sharing and check that it works.

I am struggling with this too. In the Canadian version you have to enter the car VIN number to create an account. If I enter the car VIN number when setting up an account for my wife I get an error message saying that the car is registered to another person. If I try from bluelink to invite another user, it says there is no bluelink account registered to that email address. If anyone can help that would be great. I will send an email to Hyundai Canada to see what they say.

Mrs. Mjay has her own BlueLink account, using her own personal email address, and her own cellphone number, totally separate to mine.

All set up and activated on the app on her mobile phone, before any car was selected, linked, or shared, etc.

The car was them added to my BlueLink app on my phone, and then the car was shared (from my app) with Mrs Mjay's newly-created BlueLink account.

Hi. I managed TX to Mr Mjay. Set up your Bluelink first. Then using your wife's smartphone, install Bluelink, open, CREATE her own account, then go to the car and enter the verification code.
After that in YOUR smartphone, share. Accept in HER smartphone. Done.
HOWEVER...
BlueLink Google Calendar integration is a mess.
So I reverted to Android Auto!
Finally found the Amazon Basics 3.1 gen2 cable USB A to C works with my S21. Will switch to Google pixel 6 Pro though...

The problem is that when I open the app on her phone and attempt to create an account for her it is mandatory to enter a VIN number. If I enter a VIN number is says its registered to someone else. I suspect the Canadian version of the app is different to the one over in Europe. I will see what Hyundai Canada say if they ever reply to me. Thanks for the suggestion.

Hyundai Canada just sent me the following response:

We have received your request concerning how to register your wife as a second driver on your vehicle. Unfortunately, this process can not be done because only one person is able to register for one vehicle. However, if you want that your wife use the Bluelink on the same vehicle, she can just download the Bluelink application on her device and use the same account (login information) than you.

This is total BS. The car software and app are designed to have a secondary driver. I pointed this out to Hyundai and the fact that this feature works in other countries. I doubt they will respond though.

While this is obviously not a satisfactory solution, it does help to some extent.

In the Hyundai BlueLink that app I am using here in the UK, ther's a section that relates to the driver's profile, e.g. uploading a custom image and other settings. So obviously this part will not work for your wife if she is using the BlueLink app with the same logon credentials as yourself.

But for most of the things that I use the BlueLink app for, the driver's profile does not matter. These are the car's status e.g. battery charge level, remaining mileage, whether the doors are locked, etc, as well as the 'remote control' part where you can send commands to the car e.g. to start the climate or start charging, etc.

So if you use the solution offered by Hyundai, your wife still get the majority of the functionality from the app.

As an example, I went shopping today with my wife, we separated at the mall, and agreed to meet at the car. I arrived at the car earlier than our scheduled appointment, so I unlocked the car with BlueLink app and waited for my wife while sitting inside the car. This application would have worked for us even if we were both using the same logon credentials.

As for the Canada app... if it's the same app for Noth America i.e. also for the US, then possibly the need to enter the VIN for each BlueLink user account (which as you pointed-out is not required elsewhere) is due to security concerns, given that in the US owners are able to use the app as a digital key, something that we can't do over here. In my case, earlier today I was able to gain entry to the car via the BlueLink app, but I wasn't able to start the car or drive off.

I did what Hyundai Canada suggested and it does work. I was not sure I could be logged in on two different devices but it wasn't an issue. The Canadian version on the app does not have a digital key. We can now, turn on the car, open the car, turn on the heating, remotely control the charging. Not sure I miss the digital key, until I loose my keys then it would have been useful.

Yeah, I've run into the same issues with a 2nd account. I have just been signing in under my wife's account. But it would be nice to have my owe account. But about the only thing I can't use is the calendar function, which isn't the end of the world Poor implementation on Hyundai's part.
I received another reply from Hyundai Canada. The second driver only works if properly if you wife/partner has their own Hyundai vehicle. A bluelink account has to be tied to a Hyundai car and only one account per car. Its pretty annoying especially as this function works how you would expect in other countries without having to buy another Hyundai car.

Simply sharing login credentials is insufficient. You first have to go to the Bluelink app and click on "Driver Profiles." It lists the Primary Driver information, but there’s also an link allowing to “Invite Additional Drivers.” You also can edit to include full access or manage the features and notifications the driver has access to.

Confirmation from Hyundai that notifications for 2nd Bluelink user not possible:

"In regarding your inquiry on secondary drivers receiving notifications from app regarding your Ioniq 6 2026, Only the main account holder will receive notifications to the number that has been set up for the notifications. The secondary driver will not receive these notifications."

So in reality/real-life, although it's possible to add a 2nd driver to the app, I think it's likely more useful to just login to both phones with the primary user's email address INSTEAD of doing this thread's add 2nd driver thing. I believe the in-car profile and seat settings (controlled by the button on the door) will retain in any case.
