Yippee - just got an email from Hyundai. My Ioniq 5 is being built in November 2021 and I am #161. Preferred AWD long range. Just called the dealer to see if there is any way to change to the ultimate.

No as I flew to Toronto for a family thing from Thursday to Sunday, ai will check Monday. when seeing rwong2k10 serial number it is about 450 ahead of mine, they are sequential but that does not mean all are coming to Canada
so maybe I am 40 behind him and will be soon. I will loet you know then.
I am also really close for serial number and it is the same model, so it must be the same boat. They probably did a batch in April of a new model, shipped it in beginning of April and asked Hyundai Canada to allocated them to go faster on the list of orders. We all did received our VIN around last week of April when the vessel landed in Canada and when they put the Luxury package on the Hyundai Canada website so my guess is we are all on the same boat.

You are probably one of the first Luxury delivery, could you report back all feature missing from Ultimate ? Hyundai Canada only listed the panomaric sunroof as the missinf feature but they could be more if they didn't see and test the model physically? I have my doubts haha.

I checked the list a few times and could not see anything else missing, if there were $900 would be not enough of a price difference. The glass roof (vision) probably cost them more than $900 to produce with motor controls etc. If you check around the world like Ireland, England, USA,and others put in their price and the exchange rate you will find with tax they pay quit a bit more. In USA the car comes to $76992 CDN plus tax no rebate in Ireland it is near $100000 no rebate so we are getting a deal. This is in part thanks to the Trans Pacific Trade Deal. Which Trump pulled out of and Canada is part of.

I also checked the list couple times, but never know 🤷🏼‍♂️ will see tonight
Been waiting a long time for our Ultimate to come in (ordered December 22, 2021), but got the call from the dealership last week: car is being built/shipped and our ETA is end of June! There is still hope for everyone patiently waiting, we were told September when we called in January.
That's great news! And you didn't switch to luxury, correct? Gives the rest of the ultimate peeps hope😅

Quick update, took a while at the dealership to get my car but have it. From what I can tell the luxury trime only lacks the sun roof. But I'll test it some more and report back

I only test drove the rwd but man the awd , quite a bit of a difference in acceleration

I am sure you know but I will mention it anyway to get more acceleration turn off traction control, if there is any slippage the traction control will hold you back.

Ah thanks for that

I'll have to replace my 2nd family car in about 3 years time and was considering the ioniq 5n, but with my driving skills, the awd is more than enough for me. But I can dream

I'm sure you'll get yours soon

I'm not even how long a train ride from bc to qc is heh
Thanks so much. How do you get the delivery date? At the dealer Last time I was in, it showed may 7th then I called a few days ago, he was a bit annoyed and said, it'll come soon but didn't give Me an updated date. Just wondering where you guys get your dates from thx

That seems odd as I ordered mine on October 2021 and I've reduced mine beginning of March 2023.

Wow so nice but so weird to see an "Ultimate" without a black roof haha.

Im pretty sure it is like 2 weeks of train bc to qc from historical data. So maybe next week I will have news.

Bad news for my phantom car now it says June 15 and it is still at part. when my car goes on a train it goes to Winnipeg then sits there until a truck comes to send it the 700 plus km, yours might come sooner if you are near Montreal, or Quebec City. These are major rail points and cars would not be waiting for full load to one dealer. Good luck

Oh no! I'm sure a blink of an eye and it'll be there. Keep us updated

the closer the ETA, the more unbearable the wait... my wife and I are experiencing this full-tilt now. 🤯⏱

I agree, it's pretty painful and then bam you're at the dealership picking it up.

The initial dunno when it'll come for the ultimate waa even more annoying heh

Tesla started to ship to Canada model Y and model 3 for the first time ever from China instead of USA, it must be the reason why the port is so jammed up. In the interview I sent earlier the guy said it was anormally high the numbers of car that came in to the port in April-May, make sense if Tesla send vehicle from China to Canada for the first time ever...

Oh interesting read.
On the side note on tesla website there's about 10 in stock tesla y long range awd ready for delivery next day in richmond so that might be tempting for a few
