The work was done without charge so I do not have the work order. I went in with the car to ask about update for pre conditioning following a couple road trips in very cold weather. The manager plugged something in to the ODB port and found two updates available. The dealer had no information about the updates but it was completed in about 45 min.

I just received my battery preconditioning update. I am not sure what else is on the two updates that I received.
This is surprising. Does the update work if a destination charger in routed? Thanks

Probably BMS and VCU update (like US). Hyundai uses Hyundai GDS to update and diagnose cars. Sounds like 45 min is right time but in US, it took 2-4 hours to install. I don’t know why……

What’s surprising is we haven’t been informed of a preconditioning update in Canada. We’ve been hounding Hyundai Canada about getting the update. Would think they’d be finally happy to notify and get us off their backs

It will be smoother than US. As soon as Hyundai Canada calls for TSB.
It will be breezy.
Hyundai USA had so much confusions since Hyundai engineer put additional update which caused very complicated situations for Hyundai tech person at dealers. I think Hyundai GDS system has only one battery preconditioning and VCU update by now.

Also similar situation was happening in Korea too. Some people got battery preconditioning update and some dealers said “no” because they did not have official announcement. It took a few weeks to officially announced and dealers offered battery preconditioning and VCU update.

I don't believe the post. I have emailed Hyundai Canada, 6 Times as recent as a week ago, with no pre-conditioning mentioned. I call the dealer every week. We need proof of your updates. Also unlikely in a RWD version.

Why unlikely in a RWD I5 from Canada?

They've (Hyundai) announced previously it'll only be available for AWD. And I also, have asked about pre-conditioning at the dealership at recently as Friday and they also told me no. In fact, one of the technicians flat out told me he'd learned it wasn't coming, period. I told him he'd better be wrong, because I'm pretty sure at this point there'll likely be legal proceedings if it doesn't show up.

This is only true for the US. All Canadian models come with heatpump and PTC heater except the essential trim that will allow for preconditioning. Unlike the US models which are limited to AWD only.

I hope you're right! I want you to be right, so very badly!

Also Hyundai Canada has made no public announcements.
