Ok 3 years of ownership in a week and Bluelink is trying to charge me $299 for a year subscription but my card on file in invalid thankfully.

I do understand there might be features that I want and cheaper plans. It also talks about Wi-Fi hotspot but did not think our Ioniq5s had it?

On top of the EA plan just expiring I am now thinking to trade the car in!

I too, left my subscription expire. The cost is ridiculous for such a glitchy and clunky app. The estimated range was many times blank upon opening the app. I only use it to heat or cool the car remotely once in awhile. Most of the time I forget to even use the feature. It's not really that unbearable to wait for the car to reach the temp I want.
It may be worth it for those that keep the car outside.
It's very much a choice of personal habits whether you use it or not.

I discovered during the recent Bluelink outage that the car needs a Bluelink Connection to estimate SOC on arrival at waypoints and destinations and recommend charging stations during a road trip. I am guessing real-time traffic also needs a Bluelink connection. I see 3 (currently free) active Bluelink subscriptions (Connected Care, Remote and Guidance). I need to look at it more when close to the end of the free period (May 2026) but if Guidance is required to keep the car estimating SOC on arrival and recommend charging stations on trip - I may keep that. Remote locking, climate is nice to have but I probably wouldn't pay for it.

@fbitz777 our 2023 can be set up as a Verizon WiFi hotspot - but need you to subscribe for it (which I have never done as it doesn't really have any value for me - I can can use my iPhone as a hotspot if needed)

I, too, have my Bluelink subscriptions expire next week. Although I have received an email offer from Hyundai for 40% off renewals and another email the next day offering 50% off. But I'm still leaning towards letting them expire, even at the reduced price. Just not enough benefits that I can't get elsewhere for less. Due to poor Verizon coverage where I live, I've gotten used to doing entertainment system updates via USB stick. My iPhone has emergency notification for accidents. ABRP, using my OBD II device, provides good estimates of SOC. Google Maps provides at least some traffic notifications.

That sounds hopeful.

Maybe it it is still using the Bluelink connection when recommending chargers and estimating SOC on arrival but not requiring a subscription. I definitely lost this (recommended chargers and estimated SOC at arrival) during the recent Bluelink outage. If this still works without a subscription I will likely not subscribe either at the end of the free period. Do you still get real time traffic (so it routes you based on traffic)?

Preconditioning when a charger is selected as the destination still worked during the Bluelink outage.

Yes to all the questions. After receiving my car after having new ICCU installed, I checked routing to my daughter who lives in Kentucky and I live in northeast Ohio and it showed 3 charging poi with SOC. And as I stated, I let it end 3 weeks ago. Also shows weather and road condition. I do know I don’t have BlueLink b/c I can’t open the app it states I don’t have a subscription. I did loose Sports, but that’s OK b/c there’s no football scores. I don’t have an answer for what happened to you thou.

Well, just turned on car, the preconditioning still works but now the long trip NAV only shows first charge IPO does not show SOC at charger. Still have HD Radio Data Traffic and Doppler Radar. So it’s looking like a slow process of shutting me down. I still can route to next charger along route. But still cheaper.
