This is driving my wife INSANE - our Ioniq 5 is periodically losing all of the radio presets.

It seems to be related to swapping our driver "user"...but while that is necessary it isn't sufficient to cause the memory loss.

I guess the other stupid software thing is that the Ioniq 5 doesn't know when daylight savings time is???? There is a toggle switch....but you have to manually trigger it. Which is bizarre. It's a cellular connected car!
I haven't had a single cellular connected car that was able to switch Daylight Savings Times and I have had:
Ford CMAX Energi
Nissan Leaf
Hyundai Kona Electric
Ioniq 5

That all have had cellular connection, some would change time zones, but non changed Daylight Savings time.

Yeah, my LEAF also has TWO separate and unconnected clocks for whatever reason, and each one has a DIFFERENT method to manually set. However, my Tesla does accommodate DST properly and has done so for every time change in the almost five years we’ve had it. Got that part nailed. We’re not going to talk about cruise control though in the interests of civility.

Still wonder why we change times twice a year. Silly and annoying.

DST was introduced in Europe because of livestock farming to give them more daylight in the early hours of the morning. I can only assume that the reasoning was the same in the US.
Agreed, but that was long ago. Today, although I haven’t taken a poll, I think most cows really don’t care and tend to use the sun. Also, lots of recent polls point to time changes as being, well, a complete waste of time.

Yeah it was more for the farm workers, rather than the cows, but these days we have this thing called electricity and lights. European Union was planning to scrap DST but they seem unable to muster the actual will force to do it.

And sadly in the US there is no funding block to sufficiently pay the Dept of Transportation executives enough of a kickback to make it happen. I guess that was snarky, sorry. What I meant was there isn’t sufficient funding to pay off our legislators to make the DoT stop the cray-cray.

The profile system is quite the poorly planned execution. As @msandman1943 said, you likely have to go into the profile setting to get everything to stick. Otherwise the car doesn't seem to 'remember' the settings made in a certain profile. There may be times when that is an issue, so I guess there's a reasoning behind it. But it should be more explicit.

I don't understand what you mean poorly executed and have to go into the profile to get everything to stick. Of course you do. How is it going to recognize you or your wife and YOUR settings?

I have had my Limited for 6 months. Wife is very short, I am tall. We have very different requirements for various settings.

I don't know all of the individual settings that are linked to the profile but there are number of them.

It's really simple. When you confirm your profile, set seat position, mirriors, radio, HVAC, ambient light, HUD on/off/position, display black/white........etc. Then have your wife do hers. When you turn the vehicle ON, confirm the profile, and bam, all of the settings change how YOU set yours.

There were a few time initially where the wife did not get it and did not change the profile. I knew because the seat position had changed for me. I then made sure the ambient colors were different "when you see red, that is your profile". She got it after a while and there are no issues. She knows to confirm when she gets in.

Between naming the profile and selecting an icon image, it is pretty easy to tell which is which. Apparently through the Bluelink app you can also upload an icon image of your choice to your profile.

Once, somehow some of the profile setting glitched and clearly a few of each of ours changed.

Note the seat position buttons on the door are separate from the profile positions. The profile seat positions work (limited only) and apparently you can separately store two seat positions. i have never set up the door buttons

Do I understand this correctly?

1. Turn on car
2. Select user profile
3. Go to media/radio
4. Add radio stations with the "star" button
5. ????? Go to settings / profile and... something????

What is step five?

This morning I used Bluelink to turn on the climate. When my wife got in...her radio stations were wiped again. There are periodic complaints about Kia/Hyundai losing stations with Gen5W. But no one has nailed down anything consistent.

To the OP: I can confirm that I have this same exact issue with my 2023 SEL.

We each have a profile, and the profiles have distinct Sirius XM radio presets.

I drive the car most days, and everything is great. All my presets are there.

My wife drives the car one day, and the profile switches to hers, and her presets are there.

I get back in the car the next day, and all of my presets are gone! They are replaced with all of her presets! I go back to her profile, and her presets are there. I switch back to mine, and it's also still her presets!

The only thing I found to "fix" this issue, was to wipe out both presets, then go into her profile. Then I set a larger list of combined presets that we both enjoy. These presets then magically got copied over to my profile the next time I got in the car and switched to my profile. It's certainly not a fix, but much less aggravating!

Presets are the only user setting that I've noticed so far that get messed up when switching profiles.

I hope this gets fixed in an upcoming update!

Thanks...our current issue I think is aggravated because after our ICCU fix, the radio presents were wiped for our accounts. Then my wife, who listens to the radio filled her stuff in. Me. who doesn't listen to the radio has done nothing. So I'm now wondering whether her constant loss of the presets is actually my "blank" presets getting swapped for hers...
