After the 45tkm service the brake pedal has stopped knocking. The knocking sound came at about 7tkm.
If was told that there was a sevice bulletin from Hyundai. It said that the brake system has to be bled with a special tool.
Hopefully the brake pedal stays this quiet.

Thanks for your post Sven, I also noticed this clicking as well at around the 7,000 km mark on my PHEV. After reporting and having it checked during my 2nd regular 6 month service I was told all was OK. I will refer to this post on my next service in a few months. Were you given or have you found a service bulletin reference number or code you can pass along? I assume your Ioniq is a PHEV model as well?

Just bleeding, nothing replaced? If true that is good news.
I was going to post about that clicking. It is getting really annoying and loud on the EV and because I know of it, I can hear it on the PHEV too.
More info on that would be appreciated!

I'll be checking the diagnostic procedure "fluid circulation mode" when I get my hands on some diagnostic equipment. Either they are not doing the bleeding correctly or something is defective and forcing air into the pedal force sensing hydraulic circuit.

Hi All, I have had my 2018 for a couple of months now and have started noticing the “ click” you have all been discussing here. Yes sounds like a relay in the cabin, and can be heard when just applying brakes, and then finally when coming to a full stop. I’m guessing this is the unit deciding Regen braking and then switching over to “normal” braking.
my question is should I return / log it as a defect to the car dealer (Warranty) or simply take it to a Hyundai dealer for their thoughts?
Alternatively live with it as it is very quiet, however now we have heard it, you know how it goes.
thanks in advance

Funny that the clicking came after about 7000km and that it disappeared after bleeding the system, for a while. Quite annoying sound, noise. The clicking is there when you press the brake even if the car is standing still and swithed off. I'm going to complain about it at every service, done that so far.I am soon at 60.000km.Maybe it will be fixed when the warranty has run out.

If i remember correctly.
The problem on some cars is inside ibau, its metal shavings form the production of the ibau unit.
It can be solved by doing the fluid circulation mode whit gds.
Multiple times (up to Five times)
I have done this on 19 cars.
On every car the noise is gone.
Except one car where I Switched
The ibau Unit.
I added the information about how its done.
But you need the gds tool.

Actually Ioniq is not that noiseless. I can definitely hear rolling tires at speeds above 80 kph, and there was absolutely no road noise in my previous Leaf.
Still waiting for my Hyundai GDS, but it seems China deliveries won't resume in the near future.
