Man this thread is scaring me. I just got my 23 SEL AWD a week ago and am so happy with it. But before this I've only driven reliable Hondas and Toyotas. I have two young kids, I need a reliable vehicle.
We have friends with a 2021 Toyota Four Runner and they just had to have the front differential replaced. Given my experience owning Toyota Tacomas I don't think that is representative of Toyota reliability. If you follow any vehicle owner forum from any manufacturer you would probably be concerned about buying that vehicle. The problems stand out while normal does not. So it is very difficult to determine the percent of vehicles experiencing specific failures from a forum like this since so few owners participate. Particularly for new models like the Ioniq 5. Manufactures should know but of course they're not likely to share that information. While we have not had any of the problems reported in this forum with our Ioniq 5 it is still too early to tell what the longterm reliability of the Ioniq 5 will be.

I got my 2023 Limited on Friday, Jan 13, 2023. I have less than 1,000 miles on the car. I have not experienced ANY of the above listed problems. However, I HAVE experienced some problems that are making me think my car is either haunted or a sentient being. And I am laughing my butt off about it. Several times now (more than 5 times), I have been driving along minding my own business and the thermostat will change itself to 82°. Radio on and off. And I have not been alone every time this has happened! No one was doing anything at the time other than I was driving and the passenger was sitting... no controls were being changed. Another time, and don't judge.... my better half and I were sitting in the parked car. The car was turned off and not being charged... we were just sitting there playing PokemonGo. Ok, it's been raining and we can't go out walking and we know a spot where we can access THREE poke stops and put lures in them and get tons of pokemon to catch as well as spin the poke stops.... Anyway... we were sitting there in the parked car, no engine on, no accessories on, and the car's fan came on. The AC or heat fan. You know.... the ventilation fan. It just came on by itself. And this has happened twice. I had to turn the car ON to turn the ventilation fan OFF. And today I was driving along and all of a sudden the overhead interior lights came on. I pushed the on/off buttons and nothing happened. So, I just ignored it and went to the store (It's not raining today!) and when I came out from the store and started my car, it was fine. No light on. I have it set so that it stays off unless you turn it on. There have been other weird things that have happened where the settings have been changed and I didn't change them and no one drove the car but me, but they're not as definite. I have an appointment on the 27th to have all of the updates done. (Thank you, forum members for letting me know about them!). I have not told the service department about the above mentioned problems because... well... because I am female. I am not going to the dealer's alone. I am going with my MALE partner who will explain the problems to the service guy and not get condescended to as I would be. I BUILD COMPUTERS!!!! I've been doing that since 1991!!! I'm not crazy. I keep thinking about the movie "Short Circuit". Computers don't get happy, they don't get sad, they do what they're programmed to do. I know that EVs are basically just giant computers you can sit in, so I am hoping for some logical explanation. In the meantime, I'm going to just go with the flow and keep laughing.....
If the car senses too much humidity it will adjust the climate control to clear the windows.
Make sure you use an OEM cable if you are using CarPlay, the aftermarket cables, make the radio turn on and off.

Yeah but are Four Runner owners reporting that everyday? Seems like there's a new post nearly everyday about ICCU or 12V battery failure with the Ioniq5 on here, FB groups or reddit.

I've been following this forum for awhile, and thanks to you guys I'm pretty sold on a getting a 5 for myself. Circumstances favored waiting a bit, but I'm still keeping up to date.

I do understand that forum environments like this are going to show more problems than what the user population experiences, because few write to say that everything's going fine. That said, there are a few issues that have come up repeatedly. Now that we're in the '23 model year, how many of those early issues have been fixed?

My probably-not-all-inclusive list of repetitive problems includes:

12V battery charging failures
Cracking front windshields
Wheel shake with 20" wheels
Overheating charge ports
Failing charge port doors
ICCU problems (check battery system)

If I've missed any please let me know. My main point is, are there any '23 model owners who are still experiencing any of these problems? Has Hyundai done their part in fixing what are inevitable teething problems on a new model?
I just had warranty repairs completed on my 2 month old 2023 IONIQ5 for 2 seemingly related electrical shorts. I showed the Service Manager (attentive and customer service-oriented based on how he handled my first 2 owner problems) the list provided by the OP:

1. 12V battery charging failures
2. Cracking front windshields
3. Wheel shake with 20" wheels
4. Overheating charge ports
5. Failing charge port doors
6. ICCU problems (check battery system)

The Service Manager confirmed he has only seen a small number of #1, #3 and #6 problems over the past 4 months including more than one 2023 vehicle. He added that there have been some issues with Hyundai's fix for the 12V battery issues as discussed in other threads here on the IONIQ Forum. Admittedly only a tiny sample size here but apparently some of the above 6 problems are still showing up on a few 2023 models, although far less it seems than with the 2022's.

Thanks!

Sounds like a great service manager. What dealership?

Meaning that he has seen a lot of the others, or none?

My impression from posts in this forum is that #4 and #5 are the most common, and I had both of these myself.

Fred Beans Hyundai Flemington, New Jersey - great team all around there from sales to service to the general manager based on my experience and now having met several of them all in person (I live in New jersey) since picking up my vehicle. Some genuine care there along with their not-over-MSRP IONIQ5 pricing policy that quickly set them apart for me when searching for and ordering my car in May 2022.

As for the 6 "mostly MY 2022" problems, I was left with the impression he has not seen any #2, #4 or #5 problems in the last few months. We know how variable their appearance can be by location and frequency.
