I only have one issue with my 2023 top spec, and that's the front USB data port problem. It's going to the dealer tomorrow to have the USB port replaced. It "only" took three months, two visits to the dealer and some large-letter speaking to get them to acknowledge that there's a problem.
I'm not impressed with the after sales handling at the dealership
What is the data port problem? How do I know if I have it?

There are several threads on the forum about it.
In short; after some time, the USB connection is lost. So if you use Android Auto/Apple Carplay, it disconnects. If you listen to music from a USB stick, it disconnects.
Sometimes the connection can be restored for a couple of minutes by disconnecting and reconnecting the USB device.
For me it occurs after 10-15 minutes of driving, if the car is cold. If I preheat the cabin before leaving, it disconnects after about five minutes.
As a result I've only listened til radio for the last month. I got tired of the constant disconnect of all the other audio sources that I would normally use.

Do you leave the cable plugged in all the time?

The USB data port has a faulty connection which randomly (on our I5) fails to work. Sometimes it won't connect at all and other times it connects initially but intermittently disconnects. The real problem is getting your dealer and/or Hyundai to acknowledge the problem. They claim they have to observe the malfunction. After nine months and three visits to the dealer they have yet to see it malfunction.

Have the USB disconnect happening infrequently on mine. Usually over bumps so assume it’s a loose connection and there was a video on how to get in there and address it, will probably do that if it ends up bugging me enough.

Kind of difficult to know. The earliest buyers are only just coming up on a year. Mine was hunky dory until suddenly it wasn't, 11 months in (ICCU probably).

For me, stuff breaking isn't the biggest issue. I know stuff breaks. Especially on a new line.

But how you respond to issues tells me what kind of company (or person) you are. Hyundai has been mediocre so far. A well run company should promptly provide parts (weeks isn't acceptable) and loaner vehicles. I'm currently renting a grubby base-model Kia Soul and have no idea if Hyundai will even fully cover it. I don't appreciate having the costs of Hyundai underinvestment foisted on me, the customer.

Wow with all the technology on this car, you'd think a USB port would be simple! If you use a wireless Android Auto dongle, does it disconnect all the time too?

I'm surprised there's no USB-C ports or wireless Android Auto, oh well. Still love the car.

No issues with my 23 SEL AWD. But I've only had it for a week, 400 miles :)I traded in my 23 ID4 Pro S AWD for this Ioniq5 and couldn't be happier. I love this car so much, I'm considering upgrading to the Limited now.
I actually had a 22 RWD SE, and just traded in to upgrade to Limited AWD, I don't really need all of the stuff on the limited trim, but it is the only one with all of the cameras. Those have been nice to have!

I've been following this forum for awhile, and thanks to you guys I'm pretty sold on a getting a 5 for myself. Circumstances favored waiting a bit, but I'm still keeping up to date.

I do understand that forum environments like this are going to show more problems than what the user population experiences, because few write to say that everything's going fine. That said, there are a few issues that have come up repeatedly. Now that we're in the '23 model year, how many of those early issues have been fixed?

My probably-not-all-inclusive list of repetitive problems includes:

12V battery charging failures
Cracking front windshields
Wheel shake with 20" wheels
Overheating charge ports
Failing charge port doors
ICCU problems (check battery system)

If I've missed any please let me know. My main point is, are there any '23 model owners who are still experiencing any of these problems? Has Hyundai done their part in fixing what are inevitable teething problems on a new model?
after 9000 miles, no issue with the list you mentioned..(knock on wood)..:)

Happy owner since late June 2022 and now with 11,000+ miles. Zero problems. I was spooked by the early reports of the 12V battery failures so I do carry a portable charger, but I've not needed it. This is a brilliant car and, in my opinion, the best in its class and price range. There are minor tweaks I would make to the software, but nothing of import.

Super happy with our SE! Even the little things I thought I would miss by waiting for the SEL or the Limited don't bother me, but we snuck in just in time for the tax credit and didn't have other options. We have had the trunk rattle but fixed it with a piece of velcro. My biggest overall thing I would change is pretty minor - I don't like the charge port location. It seems like the least convenient spot... Overall though, we love it and have had none of those issues after 6 months.

I have a 23 Limited and absolutely love it. I like the learning curve, comfort of the seats and drive, and levels of regen. I did have my passenger side window crack in the cold for no reason. The closest dealership, in Kirkland, WA said they wouldn't fix it! The dealer I bought it from Doug's has been great and with in a month they got the window I get it installed next week.

Where would you prefer the charge port? The ID4 and Rav4 Prime have the same location. It's a bit annoying to back in one car into the garage to access the plug.
