  1. 2017 Ioniq Hybrid . . . Dead dead dead

2017+ Hyundai IONIQ Service And Maintenance
Funny, my wife and I had to go far away from home to get the car she wanted, and they had over 25 HEV's in stock and several PHEV's (although they said they usually sell within a week). When I remarked about how many they had, as opposed to most other dealers, they said they were kind of the...
  2. 2019 Loved it but undriveable for 30+days

    Hyundai IONIQ: Likes And Dislikes
Ok...so a faulty fuel filler clamp causes a check engine light that the dealer/mfr. sees as an undriveable condition (presumably from either a safety or emissions standpoint). The part "cannot be kept in stock" which means there must be a high demand for this part--is this a condition we (the...
  3. Dead - flat 12V battery

What Did You Do To Your Hyundai IONIQ Today?
It does it automatically on the PHEV? I thought you had to push that button on the dash.
  4. How to put Ioniq on 4 jack stands?

2017+ Hyundai IONIQ Service And Maintenance
This kind of goes with the "lifting points" thread. On a normal FWD car I would lift it under the engine cradle and put the two front stands in, then lift where ever I'm supposed to in the middle of the back suspension for the rear ones...but as discussed in that other thread, the owner's...
  5. 2019 Ioniq PHEV Lift and Balance Points

2017+ Hyundai IONIQ Service And Maintenance
Boy I wish I had the ceiling height for that.
  6. 2019 Ioniq PHEV Lift and Balance Points

2017+ Hyundai IONIQ Service And Maintenance
Unfortunately, no. The online "factory manual" simply shows the four pinch weld points as shown in the previous video. I'd like to know if there are some other engine cradle/suspension/axle lift points that DIY'ers can use for jacking to put jack stands at the pinch welds or for changing oil, etc.
  7. I did old desktops challenge today!

What Did You Do To Your Hyundai IONIQ Today?
    I love hatchbacks.
  8. What kind oil filter Ioniq use?

    Powertrain and Technical Discussion
I've had this experience with other makes that the factory filter is almost impossible to get off...I have a collection of oil filter wrenches as I went through the same thing as the OP with buying every kind of wrench until I punched a screwdriver through the side. (Long time ago, GM car...
  9. Why are sales so poor?

    Hyundai IONIQ Electric (EV)
Well, they seem to have overcome that problem, Model 3 production is up to 6,109 per week per Bloomberg.
  10. Why are sales so poor?

    Hyundai IONIQ Electric (EV)
Comparing Tesla's production problems to whatever Ioniq availability issues is a flawed comparison, IMO. Also, "new fascias" are part of the product cycle, they change fascias/wheels etc. every two years or so as a matter of course, I wouldn't call it a diversion of development money.
  11. Why are sales so poor?

    Hyundai IONIQ Electric (EV)
    Fair enough.
  12. Why are sales so poor?

    Hyundai IONIQ Electric (EV)
Of course. There is a ~$4500 Federal tax credit for the PHEV, and $7500 for the EV, here in the US. That's quite a "financial inducement". You are correct that the PHEV's are harder to find than the HEV's, at the dealer we went to , they had about 25 HEV's in stock, and only a few PHEV's.
  13. Why are sales so poor?

    Hyundai IONIQ Electric (EV)
Wow, those are some pretty interesting numbers, Niro outselling Ioniq about 4:1. Tesla sells 60% of the electrified vehicles in the US. Expiration of GM's tax credit drove a lot of Volt and Bolt sales in March, then dropped way off in April.
  14. The stupid charge port cover - is there something better?

    Hyundai IONIQ Electric (EV)
2019 US PHEV: That little raised perimeter in the door is a foam gasket.
  15. 2019 Ionic review from Korea

    2017+ Hyundai IONIQ Reviews
That would be great if I spoke Korean.
  16. Dear Hyundai: A thought on marketing the Ioniq

    My Letter To Hyundai...
We were on a road here in the US (pun intended I guess) with the new CAFE regs which would have pushed hybrids into the mainstream. Every car would have been a hybrid, the car companies wouldn't have made any distinction ("that's just the way they make them now", shrug) and people wouldn't...
  17. Dear Hyundai: A thought on marketing the Ioniq

    My Letter To Hyundai...
Nor here in NJ...one of our local dealers had a PHEV that we drove, but they got a bit hinky on us when we asked them to locate one in the preferred trim level/color. Since the Hyundai USA online inventory search tool is either really bad or wasn't working, I searched individually on pretty...
  18. Dripping fluid from underneath car

    Hyundai IONIQ Electric (EV)
Sounds like A/C condensate to me. Whenever in doubt, I rub my finger in it and smell it and make sure it's water and not some sort of other automotive fluid.
  19. PHEV Charging Limitations

    Hyundai IONIQ Charging And Batteries
I would guess overheating the battery is the concern.
  20. Ohio's New Hybrid TAX

    Hyundai IONIQ General Discussion
They are also talking about some sort of "use tax" here in NJ for EV's and PHEV's, due to decreasing revenue from gasoline taxes. As others have noted, from an environmental standpoint, it makes more sense to raise the gas tax to make up the shortfall, which would further incentivize people to...
