I had never seen an ad for the Ioniq, and I don't recall seeing one at the recent NYIAS, This year's NYIAS had I think a BEV or HEV, but no PHEV (guess you don't need all three versions to get the point).

We have had an Elantra since 2005, and were very happy with its overall costs (initial purchase price, operating costs, and maintenance).

We went to the Hyundai dealer looking to buy the Genesis G90, to replace our global-warmer. None were available. So we looked at the Ioniq, were quite impressed, and bought the PHEV to replace the Elantra. Its an excellent car with terrific range, great MPG, and very comfortable. Especially for the price.

I wonder if the car companies build these cars because they have to, in order to meet Corporate (not a bad thing, BTW), or perhaps California, emissions requirements.

You would think Hyundai would be promoting it like crazy.

2019 Ioniq PHEV, Limited, Ultimate package, Delivered 17-01-19.

There was a tv advert in the commercial break during The Widow on Tuesday evening (2nd one I've seen in the last week

Seems strange to be advertising an outgoing model, especially when they appear to be struggling to fulfil existing orders.

Perhaps that is part of the issue, because while in the UK it appears Hyundai are selling every Ioniq they make, the same is certainly not true in the US, where at least in my region, these cars are sitting on dealer lots for a long time.

Maybe there's a little truth in that . Took my car in for service yesterday and mentioned to the salesman that there wasn't a single Ioniq in the showroom .He just said that they sell out so fast . Funny that I'm still not seeing that many locally after 30 months

A mind is like a parachute. It doesn't work if it is not open

Yep, there is a UK TV ad running at the moment , which, as stated, is odd as they are struggling to fulfill orders, ours being 3 weeks late , so far .
