I am Welsh. We have 29 letters in our alphabet. E and F are the same in both alphabets. Your point is ?

Her's ends in `D`, mine `F` - the opportunity for a frack-up with an E and an F was just too risky, particularly to Welsh-speakers! [/QUOTE]
Having a Danny Baker moment ? Are you suggesting the Welsh ( including Welsh speakers who would be bilingual) can't tell the difference between an E and an F ?
Be very careful . This Welshman is very thick skinned : not all of us are

My surname is Evans: My origins are Welsh.
I have developed a thick-skin from living in England for most of my adult life, to the point I have lost any vestigial accent...
The letter E in Welsh has no fewer than three dipthongs, each with a different sound.

I have several clients in Southern Wales. None of them can spell worth a dam(n)...

Car registration letters are in English , so Welsh language pronunciation ( E as in EE ,or E as in Eh ) doesn't really enter into it . I'm sure that a Greek employee working at the DVLA wouldn't assign the registration π Δ Λ if given a registration of PDL , so I find your explanation of your comment a little off kilter .
As far as your several Welsh clients that can't spell , possibly a result of social media and texting ? A problem that is worldwide not restricted to Wales

I won't say I wasn't offended by Mr Evans comment, but for the benefit of the forum and a deserving topic perhaps we should set this aside.
What say you ?
