welcome to the forum @bunnybonker

please add your rough location to your profile ( see https://www.ioniqforum.com/forum/3-n...-location.html ) as we are a global forum and it helps to know where you are when member answer questions

we are all curious about the hand brake conversion so any photo's and information would be appreciated as this will be the first one we know of

If it's the one I'm thinking of, it's basically a lever that bolts on allowing you yo operate it by hand (image attached)

There is really no need for a hand brake except when parking on an incline. The procedure is to set the hand brake and then put the vehicle in park. This saves ware on the parking pawl.

I have never applied this brake since I took delivery of the car.
Sure, if I parked on a steep incline I may consider it but so far putting it in "P" appears to do the job.

I wouldn't trust just the parking-pawl, always P and the parking brake just to be 100% sure.

It is quite nice that the EV always engages the parking pawl when turning the power off, if only the parking brake were automatic also (as in european cars!).

With the right settings in place my electric does engage the handbrake when powering off. In all other situations auto hold engages when at a stop in gear.
