Sport mode - tachometer

Before purchasing my 2019 PHEV, I remember reading that in sport mode the digital display would show a tachometer. In driving the car for a week, I have not seen this happen. Was this ever a thing? Is it still a thing in the 2019 PHEV? How do I get ittttt?

Quote from https://www.car-shooters.com/en/2018...hybrid-review/

"The dashboard, totally digital, allows you to view useful information also for fuel economy and, in sport mode, displays a nice sports tachometer."

Bump the shifter over to the left. The dash should go red and show a tach instead of a speedometer.

Unfortunately, that doesn't happen. The dash stays exactly the same. Does anyone know if there is a setting or did they leave this out of the PHEV for some unknown reason? Anyone with a PHEV gotten the tach?

Mine is 2018 PHEV and yes, the speed dial changes to the tach dial when you switch into the sport mode (by moving the gear shift to the left of the D position). Just to makes sure, you ARE switching to Sport, not simply pressing the EV/HEV button to shift to HEV mode, right?

My HEV also switches the dash to red in sport mode, either when I tap the shifter to the left, or when I (accidentally) touch the + or - things at the wheel. I don't know what those are for though - manually shifting gears?

Sounds like you have a base PHEV. It does not have an LCD instrument cluster in the dash. Ot has a physical needle for the speedometer.

MSRP of $25k.

Ahhhhhhh, @JBSwiftus ... that's the information I needed. Dang it. That's pretty disappointing, but not worth a couple extra thou to me.

Thanks.

Yes, everyone else, definitely in Sport mode. Apparently base 2019 PHEV doesn't show a tach.

@zladuric , yes, the + and - are for manually shifting gears. They are paddle shifters and they do the same thing as when you move the shifter to the left and move it forward and backward toward the + and -.

I think you can still show a tach on the right side lcd in the gauge cluster. It's more of a linear gauge, but it is a tach.
