I have a base PHEV - no way to show a little tach as I understand. Would have been nice during the break-in period but past that, the computer takes care of rev limiting.
I'd rather have the paddle shifters set regen levels (or the ability to choose a much higher level from the menu system)

Looks like yet another case of “regional differences”. My 2018 PHEV is “base” model for Canada - we have SE and Ultimate - and the cluster switches to the sport mode with tach. Have not checked the 2019 lineup, things might have changed.

Do you have a completely digital display, or is the speedometer "real"?

Thanks, I've figured it out in the mean time, but nice to have it confirmed

Yup, regional differences...for sure....

It seems in USA, base models of HEV and PHEV both have the Type A dash (as described in the manual), which includes a physical speedometer, rather than a digital one that converts to a tachometer in Sport mode (Type B).

In Canada, all trim levels of the PHEV have the Type B dash, while only the very top trim (Limited with Tech) level of the HEV has Type B. All lower trim levels of the HEV (including my regular Limited) just have the Type A dash. Thus I too am missing any form of tachometer. (I did notice, however, on a 2019 Blue-trim that I rented in January, had a small tachometer available as on the right side of the dash as one of the display options when scrolling through the main screens, but it is not present on my 2017 Ltd.)
