My fiery red has arrived

Hi everyone,

Finally the wait is over after 5 months upon placing the order.

It arrived on Monday 21st. What a lovely car. The ride is so comfy and peaceful...

One thing that does not work properly is the Android Auto (drove me mad freezing all the time and crashing). On the the other end of the spectrum, Apple Car Play works like a charm connected to my wife iPhone.

I am sure I will post some questions about the car features at some point.

Soon I will be prepping the paint for waxing/sealant and detail the car properly.

For now, I'll leave you with some pictures.

That Fiery Red is pretty spectacular. I've been considering the white or blue....

My wife has a Mazda 3, in the deep hero red that Mazda uses in its advertising. If you've had a chance to compare your Ioniq with a Mazda in passing, how similar would you say the two reds are?

Thanks ron3kl,

I think so too. It enhances the lines of the car in my opinion.

Unfortunately (although I am sure I must have passed one at some point) I have not paid any attention. I will keep my eyes peeled.

I had a look at some google images for the Mazda and some youtube videos and judging by that the colours look very similar although the Mazda red looks deeper/richer but it might also be due to the fact that those cars might have been detailed.

Anyway, I think you would not go wrong with the red colour. It's vibrant and unique If I had to choose between the white and the blue, I would go for the blue. I've seen one a couple of days ago and it also looks great.

Ah yes, but my wife rather likes her Zoom-Zoom red car. Not sure she'd appreciate the competition in the garage

Being sensible, the white is a better choice for Australia, as having gone from a deep metallic blue car to a white car last time, I definitely noticed the white is a cooler car and therefore will have a lower load on the battery for air conditioning. Although when its 40deg C like its been this week, even white doesn't help a lot!

True... very valid point.
Also white makes sense in Australia because of the good weather. I suppose the car does not get dirty as quickly. This is of course, comparing to the UK weather where is so hard to keep a white car from getting noticeably dirty very quickly.

Geez wish we'd had Fiery Red in Canada. I ordered it but the colour selection ended up not coming to Canada. Looks so nice.

If you think white is difficult to keep clean, try black. My current car is white and previous was black, so I have experience with both. No black ever more! You could see every speck of dust or mud on it. Horrible driving during or after a snow fall, when the roads are treated with salt.
