Shift knob

I managed to push the D shaped cup holder down into the console. I'd like to fix it, and I have a copy fo the repair manual, but it is unclear about removing the shift knob. The instructions are to use a screwdriver.

Any additional information would be helpful.

My post count isn't high enough to post pictures. Look at page 80 of 195 in part 14 Body (interior and exterior). I have a new cup holder and the top cover - I just need to know how to remove the gear shift knob and boot without tearing them up. I have trim removal tools, if that helps.

I got it. I just had to pull up harder than I thought necessary. All is good now.

Sounds nasty, but glad that you sorted it out.
